Abstract

The COVID-19 pandemic significantly transformed workplace practices worldwide, compelling organizations to adopt remote work arrangements to ensure business continuity. This study examined the relationship between remote work practices and employee productivity in the post-pandemic era using a qualitative documentary research approach anchored on the Self-Determination Theory. Findings reveal that remote work has both positive and negative effects on employee productivity. Remote work promotes flexibility, autonomy, improved work-life balance, and reduced commuting time. However, challenges such as communication difficulties, technological limitations, social isolation, and cybersecurity risks may hinder employee effectiveness.
